영국출신 크리스교수 언급에 대한 나의 의견

My Answers to Prof. Chris from England
영국출신 크리스교수 언급에 대한 나의 의견

1. First language interference
Yak Sok (약속) is translated in two words, but implies different meanings.
I have a promise.
>> I like to say that a promise is a kind of a bigger cause such as marriage or Independence.
I have an appointment.
>> I like to say that appointment is a kind of small pre-promise for the services like treament of teeth or hair.

2. Ing- or -ed
When you say that the game is interesting, the game intersts people. But
when you say that the boy is interested, something interests the boy.

3. Play is often collocated with [the + music instruments], and [ sports]. This is a kind of fixed phrasaes that middle school Ss should remember. So I like to say that I was hanging out with someone in the city cuz' I don't play with a toy like a playboy (?)  .

Corpus-based dictionary like Longman Contemporary is quite preferred in this sense.
